Bartending tips
Here r some tips 4 party barmen/bargirls -- General Mixing - Always Shake Sour Mixes before adding juice and soft drinks, shaking melts down a drink making sours less tart and acidic, but waters down juices and takes fizz out of soft drinks, juice drinks, and coladas. Shake once to mix all ingredients.
- Allow for the size of glass you use. Most recipies on this site are for 10 to 12 oz glasses. For 8 oz glasses add 1/3 less flavoring mixes or 1/3 less concentrate mix for frozen drink. Add 1/3 more for 15 oz glass)
- Vodka Drinks can be made with Rum with little taste change.
- If you want Rum instead of Vodka in a drink ask for by saying Rum in front of name, example Rum Sourball
- Lemonade Drinks or Sweet Sour Mix (lemon drinks) can be made as (lime drinks) Limeade or Margarita by adding Lime Mix in place of Lemon Mix, example Lime Sourball.
- (Any drinks with a sour mix can use a different sour mix if one kind is not available.)
- Triple Sec or (simple syrup), it is a sweetener with no taste. If a drink is to sour, you can add more triple sec.
- Flavored Brandies are not a good sweetness they are not recommended, Flavored Schnapps are the best to use in flavored drinks.
- When Handling Glasses hold them at the bottom, not around the rim where people put their mouth.
-- Garnishing - Always wash all fruit and vegetables.
- Cherries, Lemons, Limes, Oranges, Pineapple, Celery, Olives, Pearl Onions

- Sour drinks and Sprite drinks take lemons or limes.
- Oranges are good in orange juice drinks.

-- Make Frozen Drinks - Blend in blender
- Add 1/2 cup of extra ice
- Small ice cubes work best
- Always use a concentrate mix
- Drinks should be a thickness slushy enough to run out of blender, if you have to spoon it out it is too thick.
- Add more mix to make a drink thinner, add more ice to make it thicker.
- You can add 1/3 cup fruit to frozen fruit drinks and Slush Puppies for a better drink.
- Whip cream on ice cream drinks and sweet frozen drinks is great.
- Ice Cream Drinks can be made half ice, half ice cream or can be made with all ice cream. Soft ice cream blends great by itself but hard ice cream may need ice to blend correctly and get the right thickness. Ice Cream Drinks can use a powder mix instead of real ice cream (blend liquid & powder 15 seconds before adding ice.
-- Salt or Sugar Rim Glasses - Dip glass in lime juice or squeeze lime around rim. Lemon also works.
